Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Do (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marcus Silva could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Daniel Do's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Marcus Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Daniel Do!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Do drives through and clinches with Silva against the cage.

Silva has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Do regains guard immediately.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Do pulls Silva in close to his closed guard and prevents Silva from doing any damage or advancing position.
Do is trying to control the position but Silva postures up.
Silva is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Silva working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Silva throws and elbow that misses. Do uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Silva's guard. Nice move by Do!
Do won't allow Silva to sweep him here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Silva trying to control the position.
Silva knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Do on the ground.
Silva wants to sweep but no luck.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Do working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Do not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Silva gets a clinch.

Do has hold of one of Silva's legs. Silva is fighting the takedown attempt but Do gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Silva wants to sweep here but Do controlling him for the moment.
Silva is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Do wants to control from the top but Silva keeps moving.
Do is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
It looks like Do might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Daniel Do hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Do tries a low kick but Silva avoids it.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Do enables Silva to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Do manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Silva won't allow Do to sweep him here.
Silva might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Silva wants to control from the top but Do keeps moving.
Silva throws a big right hand that misses.
Silva is fighting to break Do's control of his arms but Do is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Silva looking to sit in guard and control but Do gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Do trying to control but Silva is working from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Silva looking for a sweep. Not yet Silva, not yet.
Do showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Do stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Silva swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Silva is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Silva misses with a looping left.
Do misses with an attempted mid kick.

Silva clinches with his opponent.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Silva just misses with a elbow thrown towards Do's brow.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Do is trying to drag Silva to the mat but Silva just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Silva is trying to maintain a safe position but Do gets an underhook and turns Silva into the cage.
Do will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Silva up against the cage.
Silva misses with a punch on the inside.
Do tries to score a body lock takedown but Silva shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Silva throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Dos head.


It looks like Daniel Do has been cut.
Do blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Do has Silva pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Do pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Silva tumbling to the mat - Do dives into Silva's guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Silva wants to sweep here but Do controlling him for the moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Daniel Do will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Daniel Do's cut.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Nice takedown defense from Silva. No joy for Do on that attempt.
Nice shot lands for Do.
Silva throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Silva gets tackled into the cage by Do. Do maintains the clinch.
Do jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Silva walks away with a smile on his face. Do gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Silva swings widly with a right hand
and Do counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Silva throws the left hand but Do avoids the punch easily.
Do looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Silva is fending him off so far but Do persists. Nope, Silva circles away and we're back to standing.
Marcus Silva has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Daniel Do.
Do uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Silva.
Do swinging wildly here.
Do ducks under a wild hook from Silva.

Silva moves into the clinch.

Do pulls Silva into guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Do has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Silva doesn't defend quickly enough and Do has managed to lock this one up! Can Silva escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Do on a fantastic submission victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:22 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Daniel Do!
