The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wade slips a jab and a cross from Thompson.
Thompson slips a straight right by Wade.
Thompson motions for Wade to come forward. Thompson throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Thompson throws a lazy right hand but Wade sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

letting Wade counter with a right hand.

Wade shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Thompson manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Thompson manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Wade manages to get himself to full guard.

Thompson trying to control the position from guard on top but Wade is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Wade wants to hit a switch here but Thompson passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Wade there!

Wade wants to hold on but Thompson pushes him away.

Thompson swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Wade is now in Thompson's guard. A big mistake from Thompson there, giving up the dominant position!
Wade is working Thompson over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Thompson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Wade slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Wade lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Thompson!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Thompson is squirming around, avoiding Wade's attempts to control the action.

Wade is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Wade extends the arm and Thompson is forced to tap!
