The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tacos blocks a jab.
Ruthman scoring well with a low kick there.
Tacos swings for the body but Ruthman moves out of range.
A left and a right from Ruthman both land. Nice combination.
Elizondo Tacos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ruthman staying out of range there.
Tacos fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Tacos tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Ruthman loads up on a big right hand but Tacos slips the punch.
Tacos looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Tacos chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Ruthman can pounce on him.
Ruthman uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Tacos.
Tacos connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Tacos throws a push kick but Ruthman slaps the foot to one side.
Tacos slips a straight right by Ruthman.
Ruthman throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Ruthman takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Ruthman connects with a body shot.
Tacos darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Tacos has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Tacos there as he acknowledges the shot.

The fighters circling - Tacos throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Tacos.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Tacos throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Ruthman connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Ruthman comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Ruthman keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Ruthman scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Tacos takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Tacos uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Ruthman.

Tacos bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Ruthman is trying to control Tacos's posture but Tacos avoids it.

Tacos tries for a kimura but Ruthman is defending well.
Ruthman is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Tacos is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Ruthman doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Tacos.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tacos wants to pass the guard but Ruthman is keeping the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tacos works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Ruthman is looking for a sweep.
Tacos tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Ruthman is looking to regain half guard here but Tacos keeps moving and retains side control.

Tacos is trying to control. Ruthman wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Ruthman seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Oh but Ruthman is tightening it up a little... Tacos has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Tacos reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Tacos taps out! Nice BJJ there by Ruthman!
