Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alexandre Barros (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Sabre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alexandre Barros !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Matt Sabre!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Steve Smith and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sabre misses the jab.
Barros ducks under a wild hook from Sabre.
Sabre cracks Barros with a right hand to the side of the head.
Sabre works Barros 's body with a nice hook.
Sabre tries to close the distance and clinch up but Barros swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Sabre throws out a loose jab but Barros uses good head movement to avoid it.
Sabre listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Sabre connects with a jab.
Sabre misses with an uppercut. Barros saw that one coming.
Barros slips a jab from Sabre.
Sabre is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Sabre connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Barros 's hands.
Barros changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Sabre tries to avoid it but Barros manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Sabre to the ground. Sabre escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Sabre thows a body shot but no joy.
Sabre connects with a right hand. Barros shakes it off.

Sabre lands a leg kick that knocks Barros off balance momentarily.

Sabre is pressed up against the cage. Barros has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Sabre down to the mat. Sabre avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Matt Sabre is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Sabre closes the distance and pushes Barros back into the cage.
Sabre gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Barros .

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Sabre stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Sabre wants it to stay on the feet.

Barros fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Barros shoots in but Sabre avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Nice sprawl there from Sabre as Barros shoots in.

Sabre closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
A right hook to the body lands for Sabre.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sabre digs a right hand into Barros 's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Barros 's gas tank.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Barros . He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Barros is breathing heavily.

Barros is trying to drag Sabre to the mat but Sabre just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Sabre escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Sabre has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Barros has hold of one of Sabre's legs. Sabre is fighting the takedown attempt but Barros gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Barros is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Sabre is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Sabre has escaped and now he's on top!

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Barros regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Sabre.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Matt Sabre showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Barros takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Sabre enables Barros to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Sabre manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Sabre is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Barros has latched onto it... Big trouble! Barros pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Sabre is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Barros !
