PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bill hardas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Henry Iron (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Henry Iron told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
hardas has a takedown stuffed.

Iron clinches.

hardas is pushing down on Iron's leg trying to pass to half guard. Iron is fighting to maintain full guard but hardas has managed to sneak the leg through.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
hardas is trying to control the action in half guard but Iron is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Let's hope that Iron has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Iron gets a clinch.

Iron gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, hardas regains guard.

hardas is refusing to be controlled, as Iron sits in half guard.
hardas is trying to maintain the position but Iron is very close to passing his half guard.

Iron looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

hardas closes the distance and clinches up with Iron, looking for a takedown. hardas pushes Iron against the cage but Iron circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Iron gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, hardas regains guard.

hardas escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Iron gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
hardas can't keep his opponent in guard - Iron advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

hardas moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

hardas manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

hardas is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Iron can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Iron takes the fight into the clinch.

Iron ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Iron no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Iron bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in hardas's guard.

Iron is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Iron shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Iron tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Iron postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. hardas looks a forlorn figure.
Iron wants to control the pace but hardas is squirming around nicely.

hardas is staying active underneath Iron, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
hardas is looking for a sweep. Iron is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

I would just about give that final round to Henry Iron.
Well Iron has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
