Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Guy Owen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Benevides (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Owen kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Red Hot Chili Peppers - Can't Stop. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Benevides throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Owen's waist but Owen gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Benevides off to one side.
Owen fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Owen just misses with a punch to the body.
Benevides shoots in for a takedown but Owen shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Owen wants to stand but Benevides is controlling the position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Owen tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Benevides was well out of range. Poor timing from Owen.
Owen lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Benevides postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Owen is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Benevides, into his guard.

Owen is sitting in close to Benevides's body. Benevides has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Owen is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Owen is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Benevides.
