Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Slim Calhoun (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thomas Peterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Calhoun comes into the arena with Always Strapped by: Lil Wayne blaring out of the sound system. Peterson has chosen Remember the Name by Fort Minor as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peterson has his takedown stuffed

and Calhoun counters with a nice double leg into side control. Peterson won't be happy with that.
Peterson tries to control but Calhoun manages to take his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Calhoun is riding his opponent, not letting Peterson buck him off.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Calhoun keeps control of the position as Peterson tries to break free.
Calhoun is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Peterson tries to escape but Calhoun has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

Peterson manages to reverse the position and now he's in Calhoun's guard. Nice work there by Peterson.
Peterson throws a strike but Calhoun rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Calhoun gets to his feet - Peterson follows without any prompting.

Peterson shoots in but Calhoun avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Thomas Peterson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Peterson shoots in for a takedown but Calhoun shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Slim Calhoun has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Thomas Peterson.
Calhoun misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

and Calhoun counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Peterson is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Calhoun lands a huge takedown. Peterson is out but the ref is slow to react and Calhoun lands 3 more undefended punches before the fight is stopped. Brutal finish. Peterson lies on the canvas for a good minute before the doctors bring him round. Good to see he's OK.
