The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blackadder fails with a takedown attempt.

David Schmidt has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Edmund Blackadder.
Blackadder closes the distance and clinches up with Schmidt, looking for a takedown. Blackadder pushes Schmidt against the cage but Schmidt circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Schmidt darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Blackadder shoots in looking for a takedown. Schmidt tries to sprawl out of it but Blackadder keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Schmidt manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Blackadder's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Schmidt connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Blackadder scrambles back to his feet.

Schmidt stuffs the takedown attempt from Blackadder. Blackadder gets slowly back to his feet.

Schmidt feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Blackadders jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Schmidt scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Nice uppercut lands for Schmidt. That snapped Blackadder's head back.
Schmidt digs a good hook to Blackadder's body.
Schmidt throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Blackadder on the side of the head.
Schmidt is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

Nice takedown defense from Schmidt. No joy for Blackadder on that attempt.
