Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jon Cockren (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mickey McFinnegan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mickey McFinnegan will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cockren doesn't succeed with the takedown
and McFinnegan counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

and Cockren counters with a single leg into guard. McFinnegan didn't expect that.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Cockren stands and steps away. McFinnegan gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
McFinnegan is working to avoid the ground and pound but Cockren connects with a decent elbow.
Cockren looks up at the clock and then as McFinnegan takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Cockren smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
McFinnegan pushes Cockren away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Cockren gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
