The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Betoli scores with a decent looking hook.
Marco Seidel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Betoli scores with a crisp jab that stopped Seidel in his tracks.
The fighters circle momentarily. Betoli darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Seidel drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Betoli pulls Seidel in to control the position.
Seidel trying to control the position from guard on top but Betoli is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Seidel stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Betoli swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Betoli escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Seidel gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Seidel forces his way into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Betoli trying to hold on to Seidel's head to control him but Seidel postures up.

Seidel seems to be working for a kimura but Betoli defends the submission attempt.
Seidel wants to pass to mount but Betoli is defending the position.
Betoli keeping control of the position.
Betoli regains full guard. Nicely done.
Seidel wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Betoli's closed guard. He's half up but Betoli has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Betoli pivots and extends the arm, Seidel falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Betoli! Well done that man!
