Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ivan Ruricovich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mick Carrick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from Carrick does no damage.
Carrick closes the distance and clinches up with Ruricovich, looking for a takedown. Carrick pushes Ruricovich against the cage but Ruricovich circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
The fight stays on the outside here - Carrick looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Carrick tries a head kick but it misses.

Mick Carrick seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Carrick changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ruricovich tries to avoid it but Carrick manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ruricovich to the ground. Ruricovich escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Carrick is looking to clinch but Ruricovich is avoiding it.
Ruricovich takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Carrick looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Ruricovich changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Carrick tries to avoid it but Ruricovich manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Carrick to the ground. Carrick escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Carrick tries to close the distance and clinch but Ruricovich swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Carrick fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Ruricovich sprawls well initially but Carrick persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Ruricovich. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Ruricovich closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Carrick did well to prevent Ruricovich getting side control.

Ruricovich is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Carrick manages to get to full guard.
Carrick is pulling down on Ruricovich's head. It's preventing any offense from Ruricovich, at least for the moment.

Carrick throws a sloppy head kick and Ruricovich moves out of range easily.
Ruricovich will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Ruricovich changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Carrick looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Nice takedown defense from Carrick. No joy for Ruricovich on that attempt.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ruricovich accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Ruricovich will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Ruricovich drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Carrick manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Ruricovich has Carrick in his guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
