Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sim Salabim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonathan Hawkes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hawkes is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: I'm Shipping Up to Boston. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hawkes takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Hawkes is looking to land body kicks.
Salabim tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hawkes swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Hawkes tries to bum rush Salabim with a series of wild strikes but Salabim uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Salabim wants to clinch up but Hawkes keeps it at a distance.
Salabim jabs at Hawkes's body.
Hawkes misses with a head kick.
Hawkes is looking to land body kicks.
Salabim lands a jab.
Hawkes will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Salabim moves out of range of the body kick from Hawkes.
Salabim swats away the attempt to clinch by Hawkes.
Hawkes takes a body punch but keeps moving.

Salabim looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Salabim throws a strike but Hawkes avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Salabim trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Salabim throws an elbow that misses. Hawkes uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Salabim's guard. Nice move by Hawkes!
Salabim looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Hawkes puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Salabim wants to improve his position but Hawkes is controlling well.
Hawkes throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Salabim keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Salabim is trying to get back to full guard.

Hawkes is looking to take a break and control but Salabim is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Jonathan Hawkes has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Hawkes avoids the body shot from Salabim.

Salabim comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Salabim lands a jab.
Salabim throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Hawkes avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Salabim gets a clinch.
A nice left hand lands by Hawkes.
Hawkes lands a left hand.
Salabim on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Hawkes lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Salabim backwards.

Salabim is rocked!
Hawkes lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Oh Salabim is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Salabim swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Hawkes dips a shoulder and cracks Salabim with a mighty uppercut! Salabim falls back against the ropes and Hawkes unloads with a barrage of strikes! Salabim is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the ropes! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Hawkes screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
