Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Pierre La Plante (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Lauzon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). La Plante's entrance music is MegaDeth- This Day We FIGHT!. A fine choice. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lauzon decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
La Plante is trying to stand up here but Lauzon is controlling him well.
La Plante keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
La Plante is looking to control Lauzon's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can La Plante avoid being mounted?
Lauzon thows a huge punch but La Plante dodges it nicely.

Lauzon is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so La Plante is just riding it out for now. Lauzon eventually gives up the hold.

Lauzon wants to work for an arm triangle but La Plante is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

La Plante gets back to full guard.
Lauzon wants to pass the guard but La Plante is keeping the position.

La Plante wants to get back to his feet but Lauzon is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Lauzon swings around for an armbar but La Plante sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Lauzon's guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells La Plante's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Lauzon wants to stand but La Plante is controlling the position.
La Plante stands up over Lauzon, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Lauzon is looking to stand up but La Plante isn't so interested in that idea.
La Plante is in close to Lauzon's body, working some short punches and elbows.
La Plante has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
La Plante won't allow Lauzon to sweep him here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Pierre La Plante just wasn't active enough.
La Plante stuffs the takedown attempt from Lauzon. Lauzon gets slowly back to his feet.

La Plante slaps away a takedown attempt from Lauzon, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Pierre La Plante has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Lauzon.
La Plante connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Lauzon! He's out on his feet! La Plante rushes in and drops Lauzon with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
