Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mario Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Demian Maia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rua's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, The Chase. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rua is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Rua lands a jab.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Rua enables Maia to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Rua manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Rua throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Maia because Rua loaded up on that one.

Rua is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Maia to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Maia shrugs it off.

Mario Rua has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Rua slaps away a takedown attempt from Maia, before circling back to the center of the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rua has Maia pressed against the cage, preventing Maia from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Mario Rua has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Demian Maia.
Rua lands a shoulder strike.
Rua lands with a light punch inside.
Rua lands a vicious elbow to the side of Maia's head that scrambles his senses and sends him wobbling down to the canvas! Rua tries to finish him with strikes but Maia still seems able to defend himself so Rua steps back and lets Maia get back to his feet - he wants no part of the ground game.
Maia is rocked!
It looks like Demian Maia has been cut.
Maia is breathing heavily.
Rua lands with a good body shot.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Rua circles away before darting back in with a big straight right hand. It connects beautifully and sends Maia tumbling to the canvas! He's out cold! Rua wins by KO!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Mario Rua!
Mario Rua very nearly forgot to thank Charlie Wang's Nutrition and 95 % Laundry amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
