The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Palavra shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Draven misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Draven stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Draven wants it to stay on the feet.
Draven is looking to land body kicks.
Draven lands with a kick to the temple. Palavra shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Palavra shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Draven is trying to control the position from the bottom.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Draven can do anything to dispel that myth.
Palavra slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Palavra has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Draven wants to improve his position, back to half guard but Palavra has ideas of his own. He's got hold of Draven's far side arm and it looks like he's got an Americana. Ohh! Ohhhh! OOOOOOOOOH!
