The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schwager fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Good leg kick by Ricker there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
No joy there for Schwager, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Ricker avoids a punch combination nicely.
Schwager rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Ricker moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
A combination from Schwager does no damage.
Ricker on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Ricker turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Ricker takes the fight into the clinch.

Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Ricker obliges.

Ricker breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Norbert Schwager seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Ricker rushes Schwager and presses him up against the cage.

Schwager takes a knee to the side of the body.

Ricker jumps guard and drags Schwager to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Ricker escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Schwager gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
