Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Hayes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Christian Jacobs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alexander Hayes had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 156.1lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Alexander Hayes looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jacobs lands a really nice looking cross but Hayes seems unphased.
Hayes has his takedown stuffed
and Jacobs counters with a nice body shot.
Hayes looks for a takedown but Jacobs sprawls well.

and Jacobs counters with a stiff right hand.

Jacobs closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Hayes quickly recovers to half guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Jacobs is taking a breather. Hayes says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
It looks like Jacobs might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Jacobs connects with a nice short shot to Hayes's temple.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
