The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Juarez tries to clinch up but Mitrionne circles away and keeps his distance.
Juarez moves in looking to clinch but Mitrionne pushes him off.

Mitrionne has managed to clinch.
Juarez blocks a body shot from Mitrionne.
Mitrionne lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Juarez backwards.

Mitrionne has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Juarez uses from the top position.
Mitrionne trying to keep a closed guard but Juarez is proving a slippery customer.

Mitrionne has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Juarez can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Juarez trying to control the position from guard on top but Mitrionne is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Juarez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mitrionne swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Mitrionne is trying to hold Juarez in close to prevent damage but Juarez has managed to pass into half guard.
Mitrionne knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Juarez on the ground.

Juarez is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Mitrionne is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Julio Juarez decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
