The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mir is looking to score with low kicks.
Mir takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Mir's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Pakkaaja connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Mir scrambles back to his feet.
Pakkaaja swinging wildly here.
Mir looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Pakkaaja is fending him off so far but Mir persists. Nope, Pakkaaja circles away and we're back to standing.
Pakkaaja slips a jab from Mir.
Pakkaaja circles away from the clinch attempt.
Mir looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
A head kick misses from Mir.
Mir looks for a takedown but Pakkaaja sprawls well.
Pertti Pakkaaja has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Frank Mir.
Mir connects with a good right hand that stumbles Pakkaaja. Pakkaaja circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Mir looks to clinch
and Pakkaaja cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Pakkaaja misses with a jab, cross combination.
Mir shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Pakkaaja as he avoids it easily.

Pakkaaja gets caught napping as Mir dives in and scores a takedown. Pakkaaja manages to retain guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Pakkaaja keeping moving, preventing Mir from controlling successfully.
Pakkaaja wants to stand and escape but Mir is having none of it.

Pakkaaja is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Mir looking to throw knees to the head but Pakkaaja is blocking nicely.

Mir jumps guard but Pakkaaja turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Pakkaaja breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Pakkaaja misses with a few strikes there.
Mir shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Pakkaaja as he jumps to the side.
Good standup being displayed there by Pakkaaja as he connects with a hook.
Pakkaaja slaps away a takedown attempt from Mir, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Pakkaaja leaves Mir with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Mir misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Pertti Pakkaaja is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Mir tries to clinch there but Pakkaaja circles away.
Mir fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Mir throws a right and a left that Pakkaaja avoids nicely.
Mir fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Pakkaaja keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Mir looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Pakkaaja is fending him off so far but Mir persists. Nope, Pakkaaja circles away and we're back to standing.
Mir looks gassed!
Pakkaaja shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Mir eats them both and turns towards Pakkaaja to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

It looks like Frank Mir has been cut.
Pakkaaja lands with a good body shot.

A lazy left from Pakkaaja finds it's target.

Pakkaaja drops Mir with a beautiful combination! Mir stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Pakkaaja is looking for the KO!
Pakkaaja drops Mir with a naaaaasty hook - Mir is in real trouble here! Pakkaaja dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!
