PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Wesley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Draffli Teutegros (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wesley comes to the cage accompanied by AC/DC - Thunderstruck. Draffli Teutegros told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Teutegros blocks a head kick by Wesley.
Wesley shoots in for a double leg but Teutegros sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
A head kick misses from Wesley.
Wesley throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Teutegros connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Wesley shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Wesley pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Teutegros tries to close the distance and clinch but Wesley swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Wesley lands with a kick to the temple. Teutegros shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

It looks like Draffli Teutegros has been cut.
Wesley throws a head kick that misses.

Oooh a lovely combination from Wesley sends Teutegros down but not out. Wesley dives into side control looking to finish.

Teutegros is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Teutegros being controlled for a moment.
Teutegros is still in real trouble! Can Wesley finish him?

Wesley decides to stand up, so the ref orders Teutegros to his feet.
Wesley throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Teutegros seems to have recovered his senses.
Wesley tries a head kick but it misses.

Wesley moves into range and clinches up with Teutegros.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Teutegros misses with a body punch.
Wesley is working for takedown but Teutegros is calmly controlling the position for now.

Wesley has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Teutegros is trying to keep an underhook but Wesley manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Wesley is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Ryan Wesley has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
A slow jab from Wesley misses its intended target.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Teutegros takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Teutegros chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Wesley can pounce on him.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Teutegros avoids the head kick by Wesley.
Teutegros is looking to clinch.
Wesley misses with a jab, cross combination.
Wesley shoots in but Teutegros avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ryan Wesley. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Teutegros tries to clinch but Wesley moves away
and Wesley counters with a left and a right that stings Teutegros.
Teutegros loses concentration momentarily and Wesley pounces with a three punch combo! Right, left, right! Teutegros crashes face first to the mat, out cold! Wesley finishes this one with a fantastically precise combo! Great stuff.
