Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Gary Caps!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, George Suzuki!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Caps with a poor takedown

and Suzuki counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Suzuki.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Suzuki trying to control the position from guard on top but Caps is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Caps is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Suzuki stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Suzuki plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Gary Caps seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Caps shoots in but no luck this time.
Suzuki throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Caps's head.
A slapping leg kick lands for Suzuki.
Caps shoots in and drives through. Suzuki sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gary Caps. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Suzuki shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Caps is breathing heavily.
Suzuki tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Suzuki landing shots from mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Caps working to try and regain half guard.
Suzuki looking to control and managing it successfully.
Suzuki throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Suzuki with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Caps tries to control the position but Suzuki now has his back.
Suzuki is looking to control Caps but Caps is wriggling around and keeping busy.
Suzuki throwing sloppy strikes.
Suzuki just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Caps is trying to get back to his feet but Suzuki has full control of the position and if anything, Caps has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Caps is covering up but some of the strikes from Suzuki are getting through and doing damage.

Caps tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Caps is in all sorts of trouble here.
Suzuki lands a big shot there that rocks Caps but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Suzuki is landing with some decent strikes but Caps is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.


Caps is rocked!
Suzuki controlling the pace for now.
Oh Caps is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Suzuki looking to secure an arm triangle but Caps defends it well.
Caps seems to have got his legs back now.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Suzuki controlling from the full mount.
Suzuki trying to control but he's not successful this time.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Suzuki lands a big elbow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

George Suzuki dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Suzuki fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Caps, pushing him back against the cage.
Caps tries for a takedown. No joy.
Caps fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Suzuki gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

Suzuki is posturing up here but Caps has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Suzuki tries to roll out but it's too tight and Suzuki has to tap! Slick submission there by Caps!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:33 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Gary Caps!
