PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pawel Borowski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eddie Gaven (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Eddie Gaven was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Donald Grub and James Ackerman.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Borowski fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Gaven avoids it really well and circles away.
Gaven doesn't manage to clinch there - Borowski circles away.
Borowski shoots in looking for a takedown. Gaven tries to sprawl out of it but Borowski keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Gaven manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Gaven swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Borowski counters with a shoot takedown. Gaven fights it but they end up in guard.
Borowski won't allow Gaven to get back to his feet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Borowski wants to control from the top but Gaven keeps moving.
Gaven is looking to stand up but Borowski isn't so interested in that idea.

Gaven has a closed guard, preventing Borowski from standing up.

Gaven manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Gaven darts in and clinches Borowski up against the cage.
Gaven scores with a hook to the body.
Gaven is looking to break free of the clinch but Borowski has double underhooks.
Gaven tries to circle away but Borowski has him pinned against the cage.
Borowski has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Gaven is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pawel Borowski. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gaven lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Borowski backwards.
Gaven lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Gaven pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Borowski shoots in for a takedown but Gaven shows good takedown defense.

Gaven wanted to stand there but Borowski had control of the position.

Oooooh!!! Gaven has knocked Borowski down with a huge combo! Gaven steps away and waves a wobbly Borowski back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Gaven cracks Borowski with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Borowski looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Gaven finish him?
Gaven throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Borowski.

Gaven presses Borowski against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.

Gaven jumps into guard, dragging Borowski to the mat.

Gaven scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Gaven lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Borowski circles away quickly and effectively.

Gaven throws a right and a left that both miss.

Gaven clinches with his opponent.

Gaven breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Gaven scores with a body shot.
Gaven jabs Borowski to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Gaven throws a right hand that Borowski ducks under and follows up with a left that Borowski also avoids with ease.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Gaven, as that shot connected.

Gaven closes the distance and clinches.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Gaven lands a left hand that snaps the head of Borowski backwards.

Gaven lands a body punch in the clinch.

Gaven jumps guard and drags Borowski to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gaven moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Gaven tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Gaven looks to land a combination but Borowski avoids it well.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Gaven throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
The crowd cheers as Gaven lands an impressive looking overhand right. Borowski doesn't seem phased though.

Gaven lands a big right hand and follows it up with an uppercut. Oh and another big punch and a knee - Borowski can't take much more of this! Another big shot to the jaw from Gaven and Borowski drops to the floor. Beaten and bloodied - he had enough there. A vicious beatdown by Gaven.
