PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Luco Zade (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Saunders (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saunders connects with a body shot.
Saunders scores with a body shot.
Saunders defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Zade.
Zade shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Saunders as he jumps to the side.
Saunders is looking to slow Zade down with leg kicks.
Saunders connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Saunders connects with a body shot.
Saunders feints a jab promting Zade to slip. Saunders then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Zade slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Zade takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
No joy there for Saunders, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Sloppy strikes from Saunders. Those never looked like landing.
Saunders thumps Zade with a low kick.

Saunders buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Saunders tries to clinch up.
Zade walks forward, straight into a front kick from Saunders.
Saunders lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Zade looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Saunders is fending him off so far but Zade persists. Nope, Saunders circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Luco Zade. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Zade is breathing heavily.
Horrible takedown by Zade or perhaps it was just good defense by Saunders which made him look bad.
Saunders scores with a slapping inside leg kick.

Saunders misses with a jab, cross combination.
A decent looking cross lands there for Saunders.
A head kick from Saunders lands but Zade takes it in his stride.
Saunders connects with a solid leg kick.
Zade takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Saunders bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Saunders fakes the leg kick and cracks Zade in the body.
Zade on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Saunders tries to close the distance and clinch but Zade swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Saunders moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Saunders fakes the leg kick and cracks Zade in the body.
Saunders throws a nice inside leg kick.

A jab lands there for Saunders.
Saunders digs a good body shot into Zade's ribs.
John Saunders is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Zade takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Saunders lands a nice looking body kick.
Saunders lands with a straight right. Zade didn't see that one coming.

Saunders closes the distance and clinches.
Saunders scores with a hook to the body.
Saunders lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Saunders has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Zade turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Saunders is looking for a sweep.
Saunders wants to get back to his feet.

Zade creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Saunders sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Saunders sneaks back into half guard.
Saunders trying to control but Zade postures up.
Zade has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Saunders moves into full guard.

Zade has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Saunders to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Zade is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Saunders pulls down on the head and he's put Zade to sleep! This one is all over!
