Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Norman Osborn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Phillipe Nover!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Sosuke Kotani and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Osborn shoots in looking for a takedown. Nover tries to sprawl out of it but Osborn keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Nover manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Phillipe Nover seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nover shoots for a takedown but Osborn saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Nover closes this distance looking for a takedown but Osborn circles away.
Nover throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Osborn.
Osborn blocks a low kick nicely.
Some bone on bone action there as Osborn checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Nover misses with a low kick.

Osborn scores a takedown into full mount!
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Osborn wants to control the pace but Nover is squirming around nicely.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Nover can do anything to dispel that myth.
Nover is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Osborn cracks Nover with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Osborn throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Nover because Osborn loaded up on that one.
Osborn working the ground and pound effectively.
Osborn tries to control but Nover wriggling away.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Nover is in a horrible position here. Osborn smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Osborn sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Nover is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Osborn locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Nover is forced to tap!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Norman Osborn!
In his post fight interview, Norman Osborn started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
