The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Frank Dennis and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kirkland clinches up with Sakrovski and pushes him back against the cage.
Kirkland's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Kirkland manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Sakrovski wants to control from the top but Kirkland keeps moving.

Kirkland jumps guard and drags Sakrovski to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Kirkland should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Sakrovski wants to get up but he can't break Kirkland's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Kirkland is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Let's hope that Kirkland has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Sakrovski knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kirkland on the ground.

Sakrovski really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Kirkland holds on and takes a little breather.

Kirkland had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Sakrovski defends it easily.
Kirkland bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Sakrovski's guard.

Matt Sakrovski's cut is getting worse.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kirkland is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Sakrovski is surviving well by controlling Kirkland's body position as best he can.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Well Kirkland has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
