Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ruslan Kalinin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Palito Gomez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kalinin shoots in looking for a takedown. Gomez tries to sprawl out of it but Kalinin keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Gomez manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Kalinin looks to land a body kick but Gomez moved away.

Kalinin closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Gomez to the mat! Gomez manages to get full guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Gomez utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kalinin accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Kalinin drops back looking for a leg! Gomez is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Gomez manages to kick Kalinin off! Kalinin jumps back into Gomez's guard.

Gomez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kalinin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Kalinin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gomez swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Palito Gomez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gomez defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Kalinin.
Kalinin blocks a head kick by Gomez.
Gomez lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

It looks like Ruslan Kalinin has been cut.
Kalinin looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Gomez is fending him off so far but Kalinin persists. Nope, Gomez circles away and we're back to standing.
Gomez lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Gomez sends Kalinin crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Gomez is motioning to the referee to let Kalinin up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Kalinin is rocked!
Kalinin could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Kalinin walks right into a perfectly timed right hook and goes down hard! He's out cold! The ref cradles Kalinin limp body while Gomez jumps on to the cage and waves to the roaring crowd. Wow that was just a brutal knockout!
