The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Belfort throws a predictable looking body shot
and Mugabe counters with a right hand to the body.
Belfort throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Mugabe uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Belfort.
Belfort missing with a left hand there. Mugabe was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
A shot to the body from Belfort misses
and Mugabe counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Mugabe throws a body punch but Belfort moves out of range.
Belfort fails with a takedown attempt.
Mugabe scores with a nice head shot.
A swing and a miss from Mugabe.
Belfort moves forwards but Mugabe connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Belfort jabs Mugabe right on the nose. Mugabe blinks but takes it well.
Belfort shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Mugabe as he avoids it easily.
Rob Mugabe is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Belfort throws a lazy uppercut
and Mugabe counters with a straight right hand.
Mugabe checks a low kick from Belfort.
Mugabe throws the left hand but Belfort avoids the punch easily.
Belfort swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Mugabe connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Belfort throws a big shot that misses.
Belfort throws a looping overhand right but Mugabe ducks down to avoid it.
Belfort closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Mugabe to the mat! Mugabe manages to get full guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Mugabe tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Mugabe keeping full guard, as Belfort tries to pass.
Belfort postures up in Mugabe's guard and throws a big left but Mugabe blocks it.
Mugabe is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Belfort pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Mugabe is keeping the position for now.
Belfort drops back, looking for a kneebar! Mugabe looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Mugabe looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Mugabe!
Mugabe wants to stand but Belfort has his arm trapped.

Belfort trying to remain calm as Mugabe controls from the top position.
Mugabe tries to advance to mount but Belfort denies him.
Belfort sneaks back into half guard.
Belfort tries to get to full guard but Mugabe has control of the leg.
Mugabe is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Belfort wants to get back to full guard but Mugabe has passed into side control.
Mugabe just content to control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Belfort is trying to improve his position.

Belfort is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Mugabe off and has taken his back!
Belfort has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Mugabe has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Belfort is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Mugabe with him. Mugabe is trying to defend but Belfort has an arm under the chin now! Mugabe grimaces and is forced to tap out!
