Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nikolay Ivlev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marc Van Helder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Van Helder gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Van Helder looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Ivlev shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Ivlev looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Ivlev tries to pass the half guard into mount. Van Helder knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Van Helder really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ivlev. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Ivlev throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Still in half guard, Ivlev seems content to control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Nikolay Ivlev.

Van Helder moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
