The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Illya Tyunina and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pennanen bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
de Davids wants to control but Pennanen postures up.
Pennanen blocks the strikes from de Davids.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
de Davids tries to bench press Pennanen off him but Pennanen keeps the position.
Pennanen misses with the ground and pound.
de Davids is looking for a sweep.
Pennanen tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Pennanen controlling the position from side mount.
de Davids is pushing Pennanen's head away, looking to escape. Pennanen manages to hold on to the position though.

de Davids tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Pennanen easily slips into full mount!

Pennanen landing strikes from the mount and de Davids is in trouble!
de Davids really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pennanen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

de Davids is trying to stand up.
Pennanen takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
de Davids tries to reverse the position but Pennanen maintains control.
de Davids wants to hold on but Pennanen pushes him away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
de Davids has given up his back. Will we see Pennanen going for some submissions?
Pennanen is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
de Davids looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
Pennanen has good solid back control here.
de Davids wants to escape the position.

Pennanen punches the canvas rather than the man.
You can see the frustration on de Davids's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

de Davids trying to control the action but Pennanen just sinks the hooks in.
Pennanen has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of de Davids's body.
Pennanen has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Pennanen has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. de Davids is defending well but eventually Pennanen manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! de Davids has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!
