Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Triya Again (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maxi Rodriguez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rodriguez is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Eusko Abendaren Ereserkia. The key to victory for Triya Again has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Maxi Rodriguez!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Saam Ante and Wagner Zegers.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rodriguez looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Again!
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Rodriguez jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Again manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Again tries to buck Rodriguez off but Rodriguez is having none of it.

Rodriguez is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Again is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Again is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Rodriguez is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Again knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Again tries to buck Rodriguez off but Rodriguez is having none of it.
Again gets back to half guard.

Again is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Rodriguez pulls his head out easily.

Again is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Rodriguez's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Rodriguez's back!

Again is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Rodriguez knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Rodriguez for a finish.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rodriguez tries to escape but Again has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Again is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Rodriguez has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Rodriguez turns into Again and is now in his guard.

Rodriguez drops back looking for a leg! Again is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Again manages to kick Rodriguez off! Rodriguez jumps back into Again's guard.

Again has his foot on Rodriguez's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rodriguez works his way back into a safe position though.

Again has an active guard here but Rodriguez has managed to pass into half guard.

Rodriguez is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Again is just riding it out for now. Rodriguez eventually gives up the hold.

Rodriguez is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Again is looking to improve his position but Rodriguez isn't that keen on the idea.

Rodriguez is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Again has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Again sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Rodriguez wants to advance to full mount but Again doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
Rodriguez won't allow Again to sweep him here.
Again can't keep his opponent in guard - Rodriguez advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Rodriguez is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Rodriguez is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Again sees it coming and defends easily.
Again is looking for a sweep. Rodriguez is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Again looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Rodriguez is trying to work for a kimura but Again is defending well.

Again looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Again is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Rodriguez pulls his head out easily.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Maxi Rodriguez dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Rodriguez shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Again sprawls well. Again wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Rodriguez gets slowly back to his feet.
Rodriguez fails to land the takedown.
Again throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Rodriguez moves out of range of the body kick from Again.
Again throws a quick inside leg kick.
Rodriguez misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Triya Again has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Maxi Rodriguez.
Rodriguez walks forward, straight into a front kick from Again.
A nice leg kick lands there from Again.
Rodriguez fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Again lands with a kick to the temple. Rodriguez shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

It looks like Maxi Rodriguez has been cut.
Rodriguez is breathing heavily.
Again is looking to land body kicks.
Again scores with a nice body kick.
Again scores with a push kick.
Rodriguez blocks a head kick by Again.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Again - that will leave a mark!

Again lands a big head kick that sends Rodriguez tumbling to the mat! Again takes a step backwards and waves Rodriguez back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Rodriguez is rocked!

Rodriguez drops his hands momentarily and Again needs no second invitation. He sets himself and throws a perfect high kick, that clips Rodriguez just on the top of the head. Rodriguez drops like a sack of potatoes to the canvas, out cold! Oooooooh yeah! Stick a fork in Rodriguez - he's done!
