Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kyru Whitaker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mark Coleman Jr!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Whitaker uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Coleman Jr.
Nice takedown defense from Whitaker. No joy for Coleman Jr on that attempt.
Kyru Whitaker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
No luck for Whitaker with that takedown attempt.
Whitaker tries to close the distance and clinch but Coleman Jr swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Whitaker forces Coleman Jr back against the cage and clinches.
Whitaker lands an elbow just above Coleman Jr 's eye.

Whitaker comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Whitaker creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Whitaker lands an elbow that stopped Coleman Jr in his tracks for a moment.
Coleman Jr blocks the elbow strike.
Coleman Jr fails to pull the fight into his guard.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Whitaker.
Coleman Jr is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Kyru Whitaker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mark Coleman Jr.
Whitaker lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Coleman Jr takes an elbow to the temple.

Coleman Jr goes for a takedown attempt but Whitaker pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Whitaker shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Coleman Jr defends it nicely.
Whitaker shoots in looking for a takedown but Coleman Jr manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Whitaker's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Whitaker shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Whitaker is breathing heavily.
Whitaker avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Whitaker misses with a double jab.

Whitaker throws a head kick but Coleman Jr moves out of range.
Coleman Jr swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Coleman Jr scores with a takedown into Whitaker's guard.
Coleman Jr slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Coleman Jr trying to control but Whitaker is working from the bottom.
Whitaker being controlled here, momentarily.
Whitaker has momentary wrist control but Coleman Jr slips an elbow through the middle.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Coleman Jr's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Coleman Jr advances to half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Coleman Jr in particular looking to stall.

Coleman Jr is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Whitaker doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Coleman Jr.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Coleman Jr lands a nice short elbow.
Coleman Jr takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Coleman Jr scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Coleman Jr is trying to control. Whitaker wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Coleman Jr working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Coleman Jr lands strikes from half guard.


It looks like Kyru Whitaker has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Coleman Jr uses his free foot to push down on Whitaker's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Whitaker.
Coleman Jr is landing with some decent strikes but Whitaker is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.


Whitaker is rocked!
Coleman Jr postures up and throws a big right hand. BOOM! Right on the button! Whitaker is out cold - huge knockout for Coleman Jr!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Mark Coleman Jr!
