And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tyler Durty!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cage tries to close the distance and clinch up but Durty swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Cage shoots for a double leg takedown but Durty sprawls well. He's pushed Cage's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

That was a close second round but I would say that Nick Cage will probably get the nod.

Let's hope that Durty has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Cage feints and as Durty raises his hands in defense, Cage changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Cage stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Durty swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Durty has Cage pulled in close to control his posture.

Durty escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cage gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Cage has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Cage wants to control from the top but Durty keeps moving.
Cage throws an elbow that misses. Durty uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Cage's guard. Nice move by Durty!

Durty is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Durty stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cage swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Cage uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Durty.
Cage does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Durty throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Cage changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Durty tries to avoid it but Cage manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Durty to the ground. Durty escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt.
