PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Liberius Beowulf (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Stark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stark is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Dance Hall Days. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick from Beowulf lands but Stark takes it in his stride.
Beowulf throws a series of punches but Stark moves out of range.
Beowulf throws a half hearted mid kick.
A slow jab from Beowulf misses its intended target.
Beowulf checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Beowulf defending well as Stark loads up on a big left hand.
Stark tries a head kick but it misses.
Stark fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Beowulf has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Beowulf misses the shot to the body.
Beowulf checks the leg kick nicely there.
Stark avoids the head kick by Beowulf.
Stark throws a series of punches but Beowulf avoids them all with ease.
Stark swings for the body but Beowulf moves out of range.
Stark throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Stark gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Beowulf.
Beowulf looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Beowulf throws a head kick that misses.
Sloppy strikes from Beowulf. Those never looked like landing.
Stark scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Beowulf is breathing heavily.
Beowulf swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Stark throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.

A chopping leg kick lands by Stark.
Stark stuns Beowulf with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Beowulf tries a head kick but it misses.
Stark tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Beowulf was well out of range. Poor timing from Stark.

Stark dives in and scores a takedown into Beowulf's guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Stark is pushing down on Beowulf's leg trying to pass to half guard. Beowulf is fighting to maintain full guard but Stark has managed to sneak the leg through.
Beowulf has hold of Stark's hands but Stark slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Stark working over Beowulf with some ground and pound. Beowulf looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Beowulf is not content to let Stark control the position.

Stark is trying to work for a kimura but Beowulf is defending well.

Stark seems to be looking for submissions.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Beowulf knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Stark on the ground.

Stark is looking to take a break and control but Beowulf is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Beowulf is trying to maintain the position but Stark is very close to passing his half guard.
Beowulf is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Stark scores with a couple of nice shots.

Stark throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Stark thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Stark working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Beowulf looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Stark! Submission of the night perhaps?
