PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Damn Good (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexander Peleus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Peleus has chosen Iron Mask Alexander The Great as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peleus looks to land a left hand but Good moved out of range nicely.
Peleus throws a left and a right that both miss
and Peleus takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Good takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Good misses with a low kick.
Good sizes up Peleus with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Peleus fails to land the takedown.
Peleus throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Peleus lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Peleus.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Peleus lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Good has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Good and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Good manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Peleus on his heels. He'll look to pass Peleus's guard now, I'm sure.

Damn Good overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Damn Good wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Peleus throws a front kick aimed at Good's knee but Good avoids it well.

Peleus looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Peleus seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Good does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Peleus is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Good has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Peleus is working away from the top position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We're going to have a standup here because Damn Good wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Good misses with a low kick as Peleus jumps back.
Peleus throws a sloppy head kick and Good moves out of range easily.
Peleus thuds his right hand into Good's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Good slaps away a takedown attempt from Peleus, before circling back to the center of the mat.

I would just about give that final round to Alexander Peleus.
I think Peleus has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
