Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Richard Stevens!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Deezy Riles!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stevens is trying hard to land a takedown here. Riles sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Stevens enables Riles to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Stevens manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Stevens manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Riles is trying desperately to improve position.

Stevens is standing up, even though he is in mount.
Stevens tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Riles paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Stevens tries for a takedown but Riles sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Stevens has taken the fight to the clinch.

Stevens manages to pull guard.
Riles stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Stevens swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Riles thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Riles avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Riles trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Riles must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Riles is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Riles trying to control but Stevens is working from the bottom.

Stevens had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Riles defends it easily.
Riles pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Stevens is keeping the position for now.
Riles really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Stevens. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Riles is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Stevens has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Riles is looking to defend but Stevens has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Riles! Stevens pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Riles taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Richard Stevens!
