Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Erin Brostovski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brooklin Rider (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Erin Brostovski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Brooklin Rider!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Steve Erwin and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rider shoots in and drives through. Brostovski sprawls well.
Rider takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
A head kick misses from Rider.
Brostovski slow jab from Rider misses its intended target.
Brostovski misses with a looping right.
Rider keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Rider dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Brostovski. That did some damage!
A nice leg kick lands there from Rider.
Brostovski throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Rider uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Brostovski.

Rider shoots for a takedown but Brostovski saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Rider tries to clinch but Brostovski moves out of range.
Brostovski really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Rider is looking to land body kicks.
Rider tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Brostovski paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Rider bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Brostovski is looking for a sweep.
Brostovski is working hard here to advance position.

Brostovski takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Brostovski tries to bench press Rider off him but Rider keeps the position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Rider closes the distance and clinches.
Brostovski tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Rider just stands there and leans against the cage.
Rider wants to get back to striking at distance but Brostovski won't allow it.

Rider breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Rider feints and as Brostovski raises his hands in defense, Rider changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Rider wants to get up but he can't break Brostovski's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Brostovski trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Brostovski has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Rider must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Brostovski is on top in guard.

Rider is looking to control Brostovski's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Rider avoid being mounted?

Rider is looking for a sweep. Brostovski is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Brostovski looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Brostovski is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Rider misses with a wild body shot.

Brostovski scores a takedown into full mount!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Brostovski lands a heavy elbow.
Brostovski lands with some strikes.
Brostovski fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Rider tries to hold on but Brostovski postures up.
Rider is looking to improve his position but Brostovski isn't that keen on the idea.
Brostovski breaks from Rider's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Brostovski scores with a couple of good head shots there.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

Brostovski working for a submission but Rider is keeping him at bay.
Brostovski postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Rider looks a forlorn figure.


Rider is rocked!

Brostovski landing strikes from the mount and Rider is in trouble!
Brostovski lands a big shot there that rocks Rider but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Brostovski is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Rider can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rider tries to hold on but Brostovski pushes him away.

Brostovski lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Brostovski goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Rider turns into him and now he's in Brostovski's guard.
Rider stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Brostovski swivels though and keeps the full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Brostovski sends Rider crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Brostovski is motioning to the referee to let Rider up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Rider is still on wobbly legs! Can Brostovski finish him?


It looks like Brooklin Rider has been cut.
Rider wants to slow Brostovski down by chopping away at his legs.
Rider moves out of range as Brostovski strikes.
Rider seems to have recovered his senses.
Rider just misses with a punch to the body.

Brostovski is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Rider throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Brostovski's waist but Brostovski gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Rider off to one side.

Brostovski lands a really nice looking cross but Rider seems unphased.
Brostovski rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Rider moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Rider fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Brostovski manages to avoid it.

Brostovski throws a looping overhand right but Rider ducks down to avoid it.

Brostovski has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rider can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Brostovski escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Rider gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Brostovski has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Rider is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Brostovski.

Rider wants to take a breather but Brostovski is having none of it.

Brostovski is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Rider's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Rider's back!

Rider wants to control his opponent's hands but Brostovski gets his hands free.

Brostovski is working for a rear naked choke. Rider is not defending it well and Brostovski has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Rider refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Rider's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Erin Brostovski!
