Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rashad Evans!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Patrick Willis!
The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Willis. Those never looked like landing.
Evans avoids the body shot from Willis.
Willis misses with a jab, cross combination.
Willis lands a lovely overhand right.
A left lands for Willis.
A right-left combo lands from Willis.
Evans takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Willis throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Evans dodges the punch combination from Willis.
Willis lands a jab-cross combination.
Willis throws a nice looking combination but Evans bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
A looping hook to the body misses from Willis. Evans does a little dance to reset his feet.
Willis misses with a jab, cross combination.

Evans feints and as Willis raises his hands in defense, Evans changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Evans has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Rashad Evans just wasn't active enough.
Willis ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Evans moves away.
A jab from Willis finds it's way through Evans's defenses.

Willis closes the distance and pushes Evans back into the cage.

Willis manages to break the clinch.
Willis lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Evans circles away quickly and effectively.
Willis throws a hook but Evans blocks it.
Willis fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Willis throws a body punch but Evans moves out of range.
Evans misses with a takedown attempt - Willis sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Willis swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Evans counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Rashad Evans just wasn't active enough.
Evans looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Willis is fending him off so far but Evans persists. Nope, Willis circles away and we're back to standing.

Jab, jab by Willis - just one landing.
Left hook, right uppercut from Willis.
Willis fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Willis feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Evanss jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Evans is trying hard to land a takedown here. Willis sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rashad Evans. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Willis tests Evans's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Willis misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Willis has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Evans shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Willis pinned against the cage. Willis gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Evans is looking to clinch.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Willis, as that shot connected.
Willis swinging wildly here.
Evans doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Evans pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Evans takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Willis looks to land a combination. Evans sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Willis cracks Evans with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Willis fails in his attempt to clinch.
Evans shoots in for a double leg but Willis sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Willis swings for the body but Evans moves out of range.
Evans takes a shot to the body in his stride.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Willis scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Evans doesn't seem bothered though.

A combination from Willis does no damage.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Willis dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Willis lands with an overhand left.
Willis rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Evans moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Willis defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Evans.
Willis lands a glancing blow to the side of Evans's head.
Willis scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Patrick Willis seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Evans takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Willis moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Willis sizes up Evans with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Evans takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Willis catches Evans with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Willis will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Willis ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Willis misses with a two punch combination.
Evans tries to clinch up but Willis circles away and keeps his distance.
Willis misses with a leg kick.
A punch combination from Willis misses.
Evans shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Willis as he jumps to the side.

Willis lands with a nice combination. Evans backs away looking to recover.
Evans throws the left hand but Willis avoids the punch easily.
Evans displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Willis throws out the jab.

Willis throws a push kick but Evans slaps the foot to one side.
Willis looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Evans.

Willis misses with a double jab.

Evans manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Willis on his heels. He'll look to pass Willis's guard now, I'm sure.
Evans stays in close to Willis's body and controls the position.

Willis wants to get back to his feet but Evans is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Evans is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Rashad Evans has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Willis misses with a wild body shot.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Evans drives through with a takedown into Willis's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
