Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Christopher Eccleston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cobb Nash (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nash comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Dry the River kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Christopher Eccleston has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Christopher Eccleston!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Cobb Nash!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Paulo Santos and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A chopping leg kick lands by Nash.
Nash dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Eccleston. That did some damage!
Eccleston walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Nash keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Nash keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Eccleston gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Nash counters with a low kick, right behind Eccleston 's knee.
Eccleston tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Nash counters with an outside leg kick.
This has been an exciting period of action!
A nice leg kick lands there from Nash.
Eccleston is breathing heavily.

Nash shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Nash showed some decent athleticism there.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Nash slows the pace down in half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Nash wants to pass the guard but Eccleston is defending well.
Nash seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Eccleston does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Cobb Nash wasn't active enough on the ground.
Nash misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Eccleston.
Eccleston shoots in for a takedown but Nash shows good takedown defense.

Nash is looking to slow Eccleston down with leg kicks.

Eccleston looks to score with a jab to the body but Nash is just out of range.

Nash gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Eccleston to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Eccleston looking to sit in guard and control but Nash gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Eccleston controls Nash momentarily but Nash frees himself.

Nash pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Eccleston is keeping the position for now.
Eccleston wants to stand but Nash is controlling the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Eccleston keeping moving, preventing Nash from controlling successfully.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cobb Nash dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


A slow jab from Nash misses its intended target.
Eccleston misses with a takedown attempt - Nash sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Eccleston tries to sprawl but Nash drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Still in half guard, Nash seems content to control.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Eccleston is looking for a sweep. Nash is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Nash controlling the pace.
Nash looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Eccleston with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Nash is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Nash missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Nash with the ground and pound but Eccleston uses the opportunity to regain guard.

Eccleston keeping moving, preventing Nash from controlling successfully.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Nash forces Eccleston back against the cage and clinches.
Nash is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Eccleston prevents a body shot from Nash.
Eccleston drops down looking for an ankle pick but Nash pulls his leg out and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Christopher Eccleston. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nash misses with a low kick.

Nash fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Eccleston looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Nash smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Cobb Nash seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Nash thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Eccleston if he has to take too many more of those.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Nash connects with a single shot there.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Good leg kick by Nash there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Nash scores with a leg kick.
Nash throws a right and a left that Eccleston avoids nicely.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Nash.
Eccleston tries to move into range but Nash moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Nash lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Nash scoring well with a low kick there.

Oooh a lovely combination from Nash sends Eccleston down but not out. Nash dives into side control looking to finish.


Eccleston is rocked!


It looks like Christopher Eccleston has been cut.
Nash lands a strong strike to the head of Eccleston. That's dazed him! Nash looking to finish here. Eccleston is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Nash lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:34 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Cobb Nash!
Cobb Nash really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that [JMFC] Arashi Fighting Nutrition Q160 Recovery logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
