The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brown keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Brown avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Brown misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Brown fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
The fight stays on the outside here - Arts looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Arts lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Brown shoots in for a double leg but Arts sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Arts fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Brown manages to avoid it.

Brown stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Arts.
Arts tries to close the distance and clinch up but Brown swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Arts lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Brown circles away quickly and effectively.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Brown. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Brown might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far.

Arts is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Arts really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Brown. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Brown stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Arts swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Brown drops back looking for a leg! Arts is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Arts manages to kick Brown off! Brown jumps back into Arts's guard.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Brown crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Arts - the referee stops the clock and Brown gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Arts. Brown manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
