The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McDonough throws a right and a left that Kallio avoids nicely.
McDonough slips a straight right by Kallio.
Kallio throws out a leg kick but McDonough moves out of range and Kallio only half commits.
McDonough keeps the fight on the outside.
Kallio has a takedown stuffed.
Kallio throws a leg kick but McDonough checks it.

McDonough drives through and clinches with Kallio against the cage.
Kallio prevents McDonough from breaking the clinch.
Kallio is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. McDonough is defending well for now.

McDonough is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kallio.

Kallio takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

and Kallio holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

McDonough swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Kallio counters with a big head kick but McDonough shrugs it off.

McDonough takes a kick to the side of the head.

That has opened up Henry McDonough's cut even more.
Kallio tries to clinch up but McDonough circles away and keeps his distance.
Kallio ducks under a wild hook from McDonough.
McDonough throws a right and a left that both miss.

Kallio attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
McDonough misses with an uppercut. Kallio saw that one coming.

McDonough shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Kallio tries to kick McDonough off but McDonough keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Kallio throws a nice outside leg kick.
Kallio throws a big shot that misses.
McDonough tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kallio was well out of range. Poor timing from McDonough.
Kallio paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
McDonough on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Kallio tries to clinch up but McDonough circles away and keeps his distance.

McDonough throws a nice looking combination but Kallio bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Kallio and McDonough are patiently standing in front of each other looking for an opening. Kallio throws a head kick. It's landed, knocking McDonough into next week! Ooooh that was huge! Kallio knows it - he's on the cage flexing is biceps. That's a bit weird considering he won by kick but whatever.
