The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Danielson tries to move into range but Belfort moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

It looks like AJ Danielson has been cut.

Danielson feints and as Belfort raises his hands in defense, Danielson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Danielson stands up and waves to Belfort to follow him.
Vitor Belfort seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Belfort looks to land a combination but Danielson avoids it well.
Belfort connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Belfort lands with a right that hurts Danielson. Danielson looks to clinch but Belfort throws a short knee that drops Danielson. This one is all over!
