Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Michael Proctor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Rizal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Proctor comes to the cage accompanied by DreamWorld by Ralek Gracie. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Michael Proctor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jose Rizal!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rizal tries to close the distance and clinch up but Proctor swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Proctor fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Rizal shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Proctor defends it nicely.
Horrible takedown by Rizal or perhaps it was just good defense by Proctor which made him look bad.

Proctor shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Rizal tries to roll over but Proctor keeps him under control.
Proctor performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

Proctor passes to full mount!
Rizal is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Rizal holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Proctor tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

Proctor is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Rizal can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Proctor sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Proctor throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Rizal because Proctor loaded up on that one.

Proctor avoids the attempt from Rizal to control.
Proctor unloads with some shots from mount but Rizal bucks and avoids them well.

Rizal is just holding on here. Proctor manages to take his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Proctor keeps control of the position as Rizal tries to break free.

The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Proctor's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Proctor is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Rizal is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Rizal is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Proctor off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.
Proctor throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Rizal is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Rizal is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
Proctor is trying to stick to Rizal's back but Rizal is turning into Proctor. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Proctor's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Rizal.
Rizal is looking to advance position but Proctor has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Proctor misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Rizal tries to hold on but Proctor postures up.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Proctor throws a right hand that Rizal ducks under and follows up with a left that Rizal also avoids with ease.

Rizal stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Rizal wants it to stay on the feet.
Rizal closes the distance and clinches up with Proctor, looking for a takedown. Rizal pushes Proctor against the cage but Proctor circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Proctor fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Rizal manages to avoid it.
Proctor shoots for a double leg takedown but Rizal sprawls well. He's pushed Proctor's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Proctor scores with a sloppy right hand. Rizal should have avoided that one.

Proctor throws a jab when Rizal was well out of range.

Rizal throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Proctor misses with a takedown

and Rizal counters with a single leg into guard. Proctor didn't expect that.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Proctor bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Rizal's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Proctor has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Michael Proctor overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Proctor moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Rizal has worked his arm free - good work by Rizal!

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!


Rizal shoots in for a takedown but Proctor shows good takedown defense.

Proctor goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Rizal turns into him and now he's in Proctor's guard.
Proctor wants to stand up but Rizal is controlling him.
Proctor wants to sweep here but Rizal controlling him for the moment.

Rizal thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Proctor looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Rizal wants to pass the guard but Proctor is keeping the position.
Rizal trying to control the position from guard on top but Proctor is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Proctor is looking to stand up but Rizal isn't so interested in that idea.
Rizal slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Proctor utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Proctor is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Proctor working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Rizal.

Rizal tries to free his leg and advance position but Proctor is retaining full guard.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Proctor wants to sweep here but Rizal controlling him for the moment.
Michael Proctor is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Rizal drops back looking for a leg! Proctor is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Proctor manages to kick Rizal off! Rizal jumps back into Proctor's guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
