The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maresio throws a one two combo.
Nijhoff shoots in but Maresio avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Maresio throws a series of punches but Nijhoff avoids them all with ease.

Maresio leaves Nijhoff with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Maresio takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Maresio lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Nijhoff circles away quickly and effectively.

Maresio wants to control from the top but Nijhoff keeps moving.
Nijhoff bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Maresio's guard.

Well Maresio has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
