PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jake Snake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Manuel Castro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Castro has chosen Fast Lane as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Manuel Castro will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jake Snake!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Manuel Castro!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Castro tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Snake cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Snake swings for the body but Castro moves out of range.
Snake swings widly with a right hand
and Castro counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Castro closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Snake did well to prevent Castro getting side control.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
The fighters are battling for position here. Snake manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Castro won't allow Snake to sweep him here.
Castro trying to control the position from guard on top but Snake is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Castro throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Snake controlling the position.

Snake escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Castro gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Snake is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Castro is trying to control but Snake manages to pass to mount!
Castro takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.


It looks like Manuel Castro has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Snake raining down hammerfists from mount.


The cut above Manuel Castro's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Manuel Castro's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:01 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Jake Snake!
A relieved looking Jake Snake thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
