PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Big Daddy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jordan Ward (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ward has chosen I will not bow as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jordan Ward!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Cecil Peabody and Wesley Smith.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ward shoots in but Daddy avoids the takedown attempt easily.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Daddy connects with a nice short shot to Ward's temple.

Daddy wants to work for an arm triangle but Ward is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Daddy is stalling here. Ward is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Daddy seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Ward has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Ward stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Daddy swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Daddy is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Ward is just riding it out for now. Daddy eventually gives up the hold.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Ward moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Daddy is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Ward knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Daddy remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
