The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rua tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Rua swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Rua tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Oliveira swivels and escapes.
Rua tries to clinch but Oliveira is having none of it.
Nice cross by Oliveira.
Rua tries to close the distance and clinch but Oliveira swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Oliveira lands a jab to the nose.
Oliveira digs a good hook to Rua's body.
Oliveira scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Rua has taken the fight to the clinch.
Oliveira gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Rua.
The referee is keeping an eye on Rua - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Oliveira trying to control the position but instead, Rua has worked for underhooks and has pushed Oliveira into the cage.

Rua breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Sloppy strikes from Oliveira. Those never looked like landing.

Oliveira feints a jab promting Rua to slip. Oliveira then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Rua slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Rua looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Oliveira is fending him off so far but Rua persists. Nope, Oliveira circles away and we're back to standing.
Rodrigo Oliveira has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cain Rua.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Rua wants to clinch up but Oliveira keeps it at a distance.
Oliveira lands with a good body shot.
Rua looks gassed!
Rua tries to close the distance and clinch up but Oliveira swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Rua clinches up with Oliveira and pushes him back against the cage.
Rua looking to throw knees to the head but Oliveira is blocking nicely.
Oliveira wants to get back to striking at distance but Rua won't allow it.
Oliveira wants to break the clinch but can't.
Rua is trying to force a seperation but Oliveira has the dominant position.

Rua is looking to break free of the clinch but Oliveira has double underhooks.

Rua tries to close the distance and clinch but Oliveira swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Oliveira lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Rua backs up against the cage.
Oliveira scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Nice uppercut lands for Oliveira. That snapped Rua's head back.
Rua dives in and grabs Oliveira's left leg, looking for a takedown. Oliveira pushes down on Rua's head and hops out.
Oliveira lands with a nice combination. Rua backs away looking to recover.
Oliveira lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Rua is rocked!
Rua seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Oliveira shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Rua is backing up but Oliveira catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Rua covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Oliveira Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!
