PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lupe Fiasco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Starbuck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fiasco comes into the arena with Lupe Back blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lupe Fiasco!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mike Starbuck!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Steve Smith and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Starbuck or perhaps it was just good defense by Fiasco which made him look bad.
Starbuck shoots in looking for a takedown. Fiasco tries to sprawl out of it but Starbuck keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Fiasco manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Fiasco will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Starbuck will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Lupe Fiasco has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Starbuck.
Fiasco jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.

Starbuck closes the distance and clinches up with Fiasco, looking for a takedown. Starbuck pushes Fiasco against the cage but Fiasco circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Starbuck shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Fiasco as he avoids it easily.

Starbuck shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Fiasco sprawls well. Fiasco wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Starbuck gets slowly back to his feet.

Starbuck is trying desperately to land a takedown but Fiasco is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Starbuck.
Starbuck takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Fiasco wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Starbuck throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Fiasco's waist but Fiasco gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Starbuck off to one side.
Mike Starbuck seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Fiasco shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Starbuck eats them both and turns towards Fiasco to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Starbuck has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Fiasco after a bit of a struggle.

Fiasco moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Lupe Fiasco spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a big arrogant.
