PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mikey Corkran (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matias Alderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Alderson's choice of entrance music: Dark moon High tide. Matias Alderson is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Corkran closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Alderson did well to prevent Corkran getting side control.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Corkran looks to land a body kick but Alderson moved away.

Corkran does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Alderson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Corkran circles away.

Corkran shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Corkran shoots in but no luck this time.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Alderson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Alderson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Corkran tries to avoid it but Alderson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Corkran to the ground. Corkran escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Corkran lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

I think Alderson has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
