Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between El Senor Sox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Elijah Cao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, El Senor Sox!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Elijah Cao!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Hugh Johnson and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sox scores with a nice head shot.


It looks like Elijah Cao has been cut.
Sox moves away from the strike by Cao.
Cao bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Sox scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.

Sox gets the takedown into side control.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Cao is looking for a sweep.
Cao controls the position for a moment.
Sox controlling from side mount.
Sox wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cao keeps working.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Cao regains half guard.

Cao gets full guard.
Sox stopping the sweep attempt from Cao.
Sox trying to control but Cao is working from the bottom.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The ref stands the fighters back up because El Senor Sox just wasn't active enough.

Sox throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Cao tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Sox is in Cao's guard.
Sox trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Sox is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Sox knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Cao on the ground.
Sox wants to stand but Cao is controlling his posture from full guard.

Cao looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sox is one step ahead there.

Cao looking for a guillotine here but Sox defends easily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Cao escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sox gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Cao is looking for a triangle here but Sox uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Cao manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Cao is trying to get back to full guard.
Sox is looking to advance position but Cao won't allow it.
Sox looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Cao regains full guard. Nicely done.

Sox gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Sox throws a hook but Cao avoids it easily.
Sox misses with a few strikes there.
Cao jabs Sox right on the nose. Sox blinks but takes it well.
Sox throws a series of punches but Cao avoids them all with ease.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Cao stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Sox avoids the body shot from Cao.
Sox needs to keep his hands up - Cao had a free shot at his head there.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Sox jabs Cao to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Cao throws a hook but Sox avoids it easily.
Sox misses with a hook.
Sox misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Cao looks for a takedown but Sox sprawls well.
Sox misses with a series of wild punches.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Sox misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Cao.
A slow jab from Cao misses its intended target.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that El Senor Sox will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Elijah Cao's cut.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Sox walks into a jab.
Cao lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Sox at a distance.
Cao keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Cao throws a lazy right hand but Sox sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Sox jabs Cao to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Cao changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Sox swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Cao cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Cao throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Cao closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Cao slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Sox thuds a left hand into Cao's body.
Cao slips a straight right by Sox.
Sox pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Cao back to the cage. Sox follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Sox looks to score with a jab to the body but Cao is just out of range.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cao tests Sox's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Sox!
A shot to the liver by Cao. Beautiful body shot.
Cao lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Sox throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Sox moves away from the strike by Cao.
Cao throws out a loose jab but Sox uses good head movement to avoid it.
Cao fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Sox manages to avoid it.
Sox circles away from the clinch attempt.
El Senor Sox seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cao lands a nice shot that snaps Sox's head back.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Cao ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Sox moves away.
Sox digs a good hook to Cao's body.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Cao.
Sox just misses with a punch to the body.
Cao lands a lovely overhand right.
Cao misses the shot to the body.
Elijah Cao seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Cao avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
El Senor Sox is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Sox swings for the body but Cao moves out of range.
Sox with a nice cross.
Cao misses with a body shot.
Cao scores with a jab to the body.
Cao avoids the body shot from Sox.
Sox walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Cao lands with an uppercut that bounces Sox off the cage and back into range.
Sox misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Sox shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Cao avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Cao looking for a guillotine here but Sox defends easily.

Sox controls from within his opponent's guard.
Cao keeping moving, preventing Sox from controlling successfully.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sox is really struggling to control Cao but he's trying to hold on to the position.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

El Senor Sox has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Cao slips a straight right by Sox.
Sox cracks Cao with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Cao missing with a left hand there. Sox was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Sox scores with a nice right hand.


Cao is rocked!
A slow jab from Cao misses its intended target.
Cao is still on wobbly legs! Can Sox finish him?
Sox cracks Cao with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Cao tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Sox pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Cao is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:46 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). El Senor Sox!
El Senor Sox retains his lightweight title!
Our winner, El Senor Sox, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
