PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kendall Groove (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alpha Male (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alpha Male told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Groove moves into the clinch successfully.
Groove tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Groove tries to land knees in the clinch but Male avoids the damage to the body.
Groove with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Male makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Male wants the takedown. Groove is fighting it off but Male persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Groove's guard against the ropes.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Male throws an elbow that misses. Groove uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Male's guard. Nice move by Groove!
Male is pulling down on Groove's head to control his posture.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Alpha Male was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Groove gets tackled into the ropes by Male. Male maintains the clinch.

Kendall Groove has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Male looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Male moves into range and clinches up with Groove.
Male lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Groove or not.

Male lands a left hand that snaps the head of Groove backwards.
A nice right hand lands inside from Male.
Male lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the ropes.
Male wants to break free but Groove has control.

With the fighters clinched against the ropes, Male creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Groove is rocked!
Male lands a left hand.
Oh Groove is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Male has Groove pressed against the ropes.
Groove seems to have got his legs back now.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Groove misses with a knee strike.

Male lands a right hand.
Male digs a right hand into Groove's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Groove's gas tank.

Male has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Groove uses from the top position.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Groove won't allow Male to sweep him here.

Alpha Male seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Male paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
